Kpop brings some quality R&B, Crush (크러쉬) Oasis (Feat. ZICO)

Kpop hasn’t quite caught on in the USA (to MY liking). I have a LOT of favorite artists but let’s take a closer look at one here, Crush (Source: Wikipedia). His R&B style is a huge hit in South Korea. It’s no wonder why. I could say a TON of things, and repeat other sites, but you have to hear his music for yourself. (videos at the end of this post)

Yeah I know, this style isn’t for everyone … I get it. Some music lovers, even the ones who like R&B, will pass on these artists because they can’t understand the language. It’s unfortunate because American artists have HUGE followings overseas. Do you assume the whole of planet earth speaks English? I am not sure why American radio and TV can’t return the favor. These Kpop and R&B artists are HEAVILY influenced by American and British artists so the underexposure is disheartening. Do you think EVERYONE on planet earth understands the lyrics to a Michael Jackson song? C’mon now, we all know that is nonsense, but artists like MJ, Bieber and Beyonce are world renown and make MILLIONS of dollars from overseas airplay and music sales. The quality of the production in the music and the videos in Kpop rivals anything on the USA or UK charts.

Let me give you an example of overseas influence: When I lived in Pakistan I listened to a radio station that played practically every American and British artist you can think of, even the “immorally questionable” ones. Why did I throw that in? Really? Pakistan is an Islamic Republic and these people don’t even believe in dating! But they know all the lyrics to “Rock Your Body” by Justin Timberlake. You heard it here first. I kept hearing this one song over and over and thought, “that sure sounds a lot like Justin Bieber”. It turns out, “Sorry” was JB and it was PLASTERED across Pakistani radio! Another song played regularly was “I’ve Got These Feelings” by Maroon 5. LOL!! Have you ever read the lyrics to that song? Do you assume that 100% of Pakistanis UNDERSTAND English enough to know what they are saying? HAHAHA!!! They just pump it up and enjoy it! The irony is that the song is about cheating, adultery, sex, and overall NON-MUSLIM “values”. People get stoned to death for these things and this is on the radio? Just sayin’.

Ok, enough of that. Back to Crush. He’s one of my favorite artists and after hearing him on Pandora Internet Radio, I quickly took to YouTube and then to iTunes for a purchase. I wrote about this in one of my other blogs, Pandora Internet Radio, My Go-To App and Why. Hearing is believing so enjoy some proof.
